Bordering France in the northwest of Italy, Piedmont is called the foot of the mountain, as it is bordered on three sides by the magnificent Alps.  Away from the mountains and the outdoor activities, Piedmont is also home to the magnificent Lake Maggiore and rolling hills, which are covered in picturesque vineyards, ancient villas  and lovely little wineries. 
While Turin is the capital and center of Piedmont, also known as the Italian car manufacturing capital other marvelous towns and cities, such as Asti, Bra and Stresa are worth the visit as well.
