Covering Italy’s ‘heel,’ Apulia  or Puglia is the most southeastern region in the country, and is perfectly positioned with a warm and inviting climate. While much of its long coastline consists of rugged cliffs, some lovely beaches can be found as well. Although Bari and Brindisi certainly have their charms, the crown jewel is undoubtedly Lecce. This city is referred to as ‘the Florence of the South’ and the capitol of Borocco due to its wealth of beautiful architecture, historical sights, and cultural landmarks. Hidden away are  fascinating historical sights and gorgeous towns such as Alberobello , Ostuni, the  historic city of Gallipolli and the breathtaking Tremiti Islands, just to name a few. Truly a wonderland within Italy.
